Located in Toronto’s Beaches neighbourhood, this longtime family home was reimagined for a new chapter. After nearly 20 years in the house, the homeowners wanted more space, better flow, and a brighter home that could support their family of four, including two teenage children, while still reflecting their love of sailing, nature, and coastal living.

Led by Laura Fremont with Haley Dermenjian, the renovation included a 1,500-square-foot addition at the rear of the home, transforming the original compartmentalized layout into a more open, connected, and light-filled space. While the plan was modernized, the home still maintains a sense of intimacy and separation between rooms.

Original stained glass was carefully preserved and carried into the new design, adding character and continuity throughout. Custom millwork, soft blues, warm wood tones, natural textures, and polished details create a timeless palette that feels fresh, layered, and personal.

At the centre of the home, a generous kitchen and built-in dining banquette create space for cooking, gathering, and everyday connection. The result is a warm, coastal-inspired city home designed for the family to enjoy for years to come.
